Beef Salad (Yum nuer)
 
Ingredients
 
  • 400 g of beef rump steak 
  • 1-1 ½ tablespoons of oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoons of light soy sauce
  • A pinch of sugar
  • A pinch of ground pepper
  • Small slice of butter
  • 1 medium size red onion (sliced)
  • 2 stalks of spring onion (sliced)
  • 1 small cucumber (sliced)
  • 6-8 cherry tomatoes (slice in 4)
  • 1 small bunch of coriander (sliced)
  • 1-2 large fresh limes
  • 2-3 tablespoons of fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of pickled garlic juice
  • 1-2 teaspoons of chilli oil

Beef preparations

  • Season beef with all the ingredients from above and leave it in the fridge for at least 2 hrs
  • Grill the beef in the pan and add the slice of butter.
  •  Remove from the grill, slice the beef ready to make salad

Cooking instructions

  1. Put the sliced beef and sliced red onion into a large mixing bowl
  2. Season with lime juice, fish sauce, chilli oil and pickled garlic juice
  3. Toss to mix well and taste to see if you want to add any more lime juice or fish sauce.
  4. Add sliced cucumber, spring onion, chopped tomatoes and coriander
  5. Taste and add more seasoning if required
